What we're looking at:
- Recording symultaneously on PIX220 (422) and AVCHD (420) from Canon C100
- Looking for visible improvement in image quality
- Preparing to test for repeated encoding
- Testing the premise that we should use external recorders
From this test, I have my own conclusions
- This is a really easy test - no motion, no strong colours or motion
- You're not going to SEE the difference in most situations (except high movement and possibly chromakey)
- Second set of images show noisy image, stressed codec - signs of interlacing going on
- The two frames are 1 frame apart. Noisy frame is I frame, smooth but interlaced frame is B frame
- Use Ninja ProRes recorder for action and noisy detailed shots
